Cyprus’ cultural showcase at the Bozar Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels is continuing with strong public interest, the Deputy Ministry of Culture said.
The “Focus on Cyprus: Immersion in Contemporary Cypriot Art” program is part of the cultural agenda of Cyprus’ 2026 EU Council Presidency.
On 11 April, the award‑winning Cypriot trio Monsieur Doumani performed at Bozar, presenting their fourth album, Pissourin. The group features Antonis Antoniou, Dimitris Yiasemides and Andys Skordis.
The tribute to Cyprus continued on 13 April with works by choreographers Alexandra Waierstall and Elena Antoniou, presented in two distinct spaces within Bozar. Waierstall’s piece, Seconds in Clouds, engaged in a choreographic dialogue with Rita McBride’s installation Arena Seating. Antoniou performed her solo work LANDSCAPE, which has also been featured at major international festivals.
Meanwhile, the exhibition Lost Spaces remains open at Bozar, offering an immersive virtual‑reality experience of Nicosia’s buffer zone. It presents three emblematic locations through the memories of people who lived there, including the late visual artist Andreas Karayan.
