The reduced excise tax on motor fuel will be extended until Sept. 17 following a decision by the Finance Ministry.
The ministry said the extension was granted after most parliamentary parties requested more time so the measure can be reassessed when the House of Representatives resumes work in the autumn.
The extension maintains a reduction of 8.33 cents per liter in fuel tax. The government estimates the total benefit to consumers at €15.5 million.
