FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A 21-year-old man reported being robbed by a group of five individuals while swimming at Finikoudes Beach on Tuesday night, according to police.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., when the victim, a Larnaca resident, was in the water. He told authorities that his bag—containing a mobile phone and an undisclosed amount of cash—was stolen from the shore.
Following an investigation, police identified a 22-year-old suspect, who was arrested under a court warrant and remains in custody pending further inquiries.
The Larnaca Minor Offenses Department is continuing its investigation.
Police Urge Public Vigilance
In light of increased thefts during the summer season at coastal and mountain resorts, as well as recreational areas, police are advising the public to remain vigilant and take precautions to safeguard personal belongings.
