FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A 55-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a car break-in and theft reported the previous day in Aradippou, police said.
The incident occurred between 4 and 5 p.m. Tuesday, when a vehicle parked in an open area was targeted.
According to a complaint filed by a 48-year-old Nicosia resident, the car’s window was smashed and a bag belonging to his wife was stolen.
The bag contained cash, credit cards, a tablet, and personal documents.
Authorities said attempts were made to withdraw money using the stolen cards, but were unsuccessful.
Following the investigation, police identified the suspect, who was arrested under a court warrant and remains in custody.
The Aradippou Police Station is continuing its investigation.
Police urged the public to take precautions, including locking vehicles, avoiding isolated parking areas, and keeping valuables out of sight.
Suspicious activity should be reported to local police or the Citizen’s Line at 1460.
