A 28-year-old foreign food delivery courier was attacked by six unknown young men in Kiti last night.

The incident occurred on Grigoris Afxentiou Street, where the victim had stopped due to road works.

The attackers used violence, throwing the delivery man to the ground before stealing his motorcycle and mobile phone.

The victim did not suffer any injuries but was taken to the hospital as a precaution, where he received treatment and was discharged.

The stolen motorcycle was later found abandoned in an open area about 500 meters from the scene. Police are searching the area for evidence to identify the perpetrators.

This incident is part of a troubling trend of violence against delivery drivers in Cyprus.

Recent reports indicate a surge in attacks, often with racist undertones, leaving many drivers feeling unsafe while doing their jobs.

Protests have been held to demand better protection and raise awareness about the dangers faced by those in the delivery sector.
