FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Forestry Department has received the final batch of 25 special-purpose fire trucks, each with a water-carrying capacity of 2 tons and designed for use on all types of terrain.
According to Alithia, Agriculture Minister Maria Panayotu stated that the department has implemented comprehensive measures to combat forest fires this year.
Additionally, the Forestry Department plans to acquire four water trucks and six tankers with a capacity of 12 tons of water by July.
Looking ahead to 2026, they will further enhance resources with 17 large fire trucks and three new firefighting planes, ensuring robust preparations for the future.
