FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE — Four rental vehicles were set on fire early Thursday morning outside a car rental office along the Larnaca–Dhekelia coastal road, authorities said.
According to preliminary investigations, two individuals in a vehicle approached the scene shortly before 4 a.m. and ignited the cars after dousing them with a flammable substance.
A security guard on duty reported hearing several gunshots during the incident.
He was not injured, and police believe the shots were not fired directly at him.
Crime scene investigators cordoned off the area and recovered a single shell casing.
All four vehicles sustained extensive damage.
