Cyprus joins MARINTEC China 2025 with national pavilion

Cyprus took part for the first time with a national pavilion at MARINTEC China 2025, one of the world’s leading maritime technology exhibitions, held Dec. 2‑5 in Shanghai, the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry said Tuesday.

The biennial event drew more than 2,200 exhibitors and 80,000 visitors from 100 countries. Cyprus’ participation was organized with the Cyprus Trade Center in Beijing as part of a strategy to boost the international presence of Cypriot businesses and promote new partnerships in shipping and technology.

The pavilion featured the Deputy Ministry of Shipping and five Cypriot companies — Uniteam Marine Ltd, Intellar Innovative Solutions Ltd, Onetech Services Ltd, VenusHub Ltd and World Link Maritime Communications Ltd — showcasing innovations in ship management, engineering services, artificial intelligence, digitalization, IPTV and satellite communications.

A networking event was held Dec. 3 with the attendance of Cyprus’ ambassador to China, Koula Sofianou, strengthening contacts with international markets. Exhibitors also met delegations including one from Yidu in Hubei province, leading to initial cooperation proposals.

Organizers said the pavilion attracted strong interest, highlighting Cyprus’ advantages as a modern and reliable maritime hub.
