FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE — Police arrested nine people in Larnaca during an operation targeting illegal employment and unauthorized hiring of foreign nationals.
The crackdown focused on building sites.
Authorities said six of those arrested were residing illegally, while the other three were asylum seekers with applications still being processed.
All nine face charges related to illegal employment and unauthorized work.
Their employers were also questioned by police and fined a total of €36,000.
