Cyprus Patient Groups Report Complaints Over Rising Co‑Payments for GESY Medicines

Cyprus’ Federation of Patients’ Associations (OSAK) says it has received a growing number of complaints from patients and doctors about significant increases in co‑payments for certain GESY‑covered medicines, despite no change in the drugs’ official prices.

According to the federation, the higher charges are affecting vulnerable groups in particular — especially pensioners and low‑income retirees — who now face steeper monthly costs to maintain their treatment.

OSAK called on the Health Insurance Organization (HIO) and pharmaceutical companies to enter discussions aimed at resolving the issue.
