A new earthquake struck Afghanistan early Friday, measured at magnitude 5.4 by Germany’s GFZ and 5.2 by the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake had a depth of 10 kilometers, according to GFZ (Deutsches Geoforschungszentrum).
It followed a stronger magnitude 6.2 quake that hit southeastern Afghanistan late Thursday, also recorded by GFZ.
The country is still reeling from a powerful magnitude 6.0 earthquake that struck late Sunday, flattening buildings across several villages and killing more than 2,200 people. Authorities have reported multiple aftershocks since.
