According to the announcement, the messages include a link directing recipients to a fake website, where users are prompted to enter personal information, bank‑card details and online‑banking passwords.
Police say the aim is to steal money or sensitive data.
Authorities are urging the public to avoid unverified websites and never disclose personal information or access codes online.
