Cyprus police are urging the public to be cautious after reports of a new phone scam in which callers claim people are entitled to profits from supposed cryptocurrency investments.
According to police, the callers tell victims they can help them receive payments from earlier investments.
They then ask for access to the person’s bank account and transfer money into accounts they control.
Police are reminding the public not to share passwords or login details for online or banking accounts with anyone.
