The United Nations says a photograph showing its flag placed next to the flag of the breakaway north during a meeting in Turkey does not reflect any change in its position on the Cyprus issue.

UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric said the image — taken during a meeting between UN political chief Rosemary DiCarlo and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum — simply showed the seating arrangement at the venue.

He stressed that the UN’s stance remains guided by Security Council resolutions and its support for efforts toward a comprehensive settlement within the established framework.

Dujarric underlined that there has been no shift in the organization’s long‑standing policy on Cyprus.
