FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Foreign investors are in talks to establish a passenger transport service between Cyprus and Lebanon, according to local media reports.
Representatives of a multinational maritime transportation company have reportedly held meetings with government officials in Nicosia to discuss the initiative.
According to the reports, the investors aim to launch a cruise ship service connecting Larnaca Port with Jounieh Port, located north of Beirut.
They also expressed interest in investing in Larnaca Port and proposed that the company’s headquarters be based in Cyprus, with the ship flying the Cyprus flag.
The newspaper suggested that the investors’ interest may be linked to Lebanon’s change in government earlier this year.
