FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Cyprus President Nicos Christodoulides is in Paris to participate in a high-level summit on peace and security in Ukraine, organized by French President Emmanuel Macron.
The summit will bring together heads of state, government leaders, and representatives of international organizations to exchange views and work towards a comprehensive peace agreement.
Christodoulides’ participation follows Cyprus’ recent involvement in the Chiefs of Defense meeting on March 11.
The country remains part of a select group of nations actively supporting the peace process, emphasizing the importance of European Union (EU) involvement, adherence to international law, and the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence of all nations.
On the sidelines of the summit, President Christodoulides is set to hold a bilateral meeting with President Macron to discuss matters of mutual interest, including enhancing the strategic partnership between Cyprus and France.
Additionally, a trilateral meeting is planned for Friday, March 28, with the Presidents of France, Lebanon, and Cyprus to address developments in Lebanon and broader regional issues in the Eastern Mediterranean.
