FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE  – Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides is set to meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London to discuss bilateral relations and European Union-United Kingdom ties following last week’s historic EU summit.

Christodoulides, who arrived in the British capital last night, will visit the prime minister’s office at 7:30 p.m. Cyprus time for a private meeting with Starmer.

Talks will cover Cyprus-UK relations, as well as the EU-UK dynamic ahead of Cyprus assuming the EU Council presidency in the first half of 2026.

Regional and international developments will also be on the agenda. Christodoulides is expected to brief Starmer on the latest efforts to resolve the Cyprus issue, including the recent appointment of Johannes Hahn as the EU’s special envoy for the matter.

He will also discuss his upcoming meeting with UN Secretary-General envoy María Ángela Holguín.

This marks the third meeting between Christodoulides and Starmer since the British leader took office in July 2024, highlighting strong diplomatic ties between the two nations.

It follows Starmer’s historic visit to Cyprus in December 2024, the first by a UK prime minister in 53 years.
