Strong winds, reaching speeds of up to 7 Beauforts, have caused significant damage in Limassol.
This morning, a tree was uprooted and fell on a car, damaging its rear, according to local reports.
In addition to the wind, dust carried from Jordan and Saudi Arabia is making life difficult across Cyprus.
The high dust density has painted some cities in the region in shades of orange and yellow. As of 09:00 this morning, dust measurements revealed:
- Nicosia: 99.3 mg/m³
- Limassol: 100.5 mg/m³
- Larnaca: 105.5 mg/m³
- Paphos: 108.6 mg/m³
Residents are advised to take precautions and stay indoors as much as possible to avoid the health risks associated with high dust levels.
