FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Famagusta District Court on Monday ordered the eight-day detention of a 55-year-old man to assist police with an ongoing investigation into a series of burglaries and thefts targeting holiday homes in the Ayia Napa area between April and August.
According to police, evidence has been secured linking the suspect to 20 separate cases, including burglaries, thefts and attempted break-ins committed between April 15 and Aug. 31.
The man was arrested Sunday morning, Aug. 31, under a court-issued warrant and taken into custody to facilitate further questioning.
The Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department is continuing its inquiries.
