FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Authorities in Cyprus are urging the public to exercise caution following multiple reports of online scams involving fraudulent investment videos featuring well-known personalities.
According to police, the deceptive videos falsely promote investment opportunities to lure victims into sending money. Officials warn that the perpetrators aim to defraud citizens through these false schemes, using social media to advertise them.
Police advise the public to avoid any communication or transactions linked to these videos and recommend that individuals interested in investment opportunities seek registered and licensed financial institutions or advisors.
Authorities also stress the need for heightened vigilance against online fraud, in which scammers impersonate public figures to solicit funds for fictitious ventures.
