FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Christos Christakis, 19, from Aradippou, died late Saturday afternoon from injuries sustained in a traffic accident near Mackenzie Beach in Larnaca on Monday, August 18.
His family has been notified, and arrangements for the legally required autopsy are pending.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the large parking area behind the popular beachfront. According to initial police statements, Christakis was accidentally struck by a vehicle driven by another 19-year-old, who was attempting to pick him up. The impact caused Christakis to fall and hit his head.
Following a voluntary statement, the driver was arrested and held in custody before being released. The Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID) continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
