The Cyprus Telecommunications Companies Association (SETIL) is urging prepaid mobile users to complete identity verification before Nov. 10, warning that unverified SIM cards will be deactivated.

Despite a recent surge in verifications, a large number of prepaid cards remain unregistered, the group said Thursday.

SETIL advised both individual users and businesses to check their connections and finalize the process to avoid service disruption.

Verification is handled by mobile providers—Cyta, Epic, Cablenet, and Primetel—and requires a name, ID or passport number, and phone number. Users can verify in person or online via provider apps and websites.

Under a law enacted in April 2024, all prepaid SIMs must be registered to a named user by Nov. 10, 2025. Cards not verified by the deadline will be shut off.
