The Public Works Department has announced a series of road closures and traffic diversions in Limassol and Larnaca this week as crews carry out asphalt works, lane marking and routine maintenance.
In Limassol, resurfacing will take place on Nikou and Despinas Pattichi Avenue on Tuesday, March 31, and again on Thursday, April 2, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
On both nights, the western section of the avenue will close to traffic, with vehicles routed through the eastern side, which will operate temporarily with two‑way flow.
Additional resurfacing is scheduled for Monday night on Agias Zonis Street, Platonos Street and the junction with Archbishop Makarios III Avenue. Sections of all three roads will close, with traffic redirected through nearby streets including Louki Akrita and Archimidou.
Lane‑marking works will also take place on the Limassol–Nicosia motorway (A1) near Moni on Monday between 10 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. Both lanes toward Limassol will close, and drivers will be diverted through the Moni interchange onto the old B1 road.
In Larnaca district, periodic maintenance on a one‑kilometre stretch of the old Larnaca–Nicosia road near Kosi will run from March 30 to April 2 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. One lane will close in 100‑metre sections, with traffic controlled by stop‑and‑go signals.
Separately, construction of a new signal‑controlled pedestrian crossing and central median on Akropoleos Avenue will continue from March 30 to April 20. The right‑hand lane in both directions will remain closed along a 60‑metre section, with traffic shifted to the left lane.
The department apologised for the disruption and urged drivers to follow temporary signage and police instructions.
