Cyprus will introduce a zero value‑added tax rate on fresh and frozen meat and fish from April 6 to September 30, 2026.

The measure, approved by the Cabinet and published in the official gazette, applies to beef, pork, lamb, goat, poultry, rabbit and hare meat, as well as fresh, chilled or frozen fish, squid, octopus and cuttlefish, according to their customs classification codes.

Prepared meat and fish products — including marinated items, smoked meats, sausages, burgers, sheftalies, nuggets, gyros, lountza and canned or smoked fish — will continue to be taxed at the reduced 5% VAT rate.
