Cyprus tourist arrivals up 30% in November

Tourist arrivals to Cyprus rose 30.4% in November to 234,580 compared with 179,941 in the same month last year, the Statistical Service said Wednesday.

From January to November, arrivals totaled 4.38 million, up 12% year‑on‑year.

The United Kingdom remained the largest source market in November with 53,267 visitors (22.7%), followed by Poland (13.2%), Israel (11.4%), Germany (10.4%) and Greece (6%).

Most visitors came for holidays (72%), while 13.1% visited friends or relatives and 14.4% traveled for business.

Trips abroad by Cypriot residents also increased, rising 14.1% to 137,210 in November. Greece accounted for 30.9% of returns, the UK 9.7% and Italy 4.5%.
