A house fire in Limassol claimed the life of 33-year-old Menelaos Christodoulides shortly after 2 PM, Sunday.
His older brother attempted to rescue him but couldn’t.
His brother had searched for him by phone before arriving at the house and encountering smoke and fumes, reports Cyprus Radio.
Inside the bedroom, he found Menelaos unconscious and tried to carry him out, but a fire broke out, thwarting the rescue.
This tragedy comes shortly after another devastating fire in Limassol that claimed the lives of a family of five.
The victims included 33-year-old Maria Georgiou and her three young children, eight-year-old Angelina, three-year-old Melina, and two-year-old Angelos Michael.
The family’s father, 35-year-old Bassem Adeeb Gamil Takla, will be laid to rest in his native Egypt.
Authorities are investigating the cause of both fires.
An autopsy will determine the cause of Menelaos Christodoulides’ death.
