The 22nd World Conference of Cypriot Diaspora concluded this week, with delegates from POMAK, PSEKA, and NEPOMAK electing new leadership and approving resolutions.
Christos Karaolis was elected president of POMAK, and Philip Christopher will lead PSEKA. The newly formed Central Council held its first session.
Officials highlighted Cyprus’ foreign policy priorities, diaspora engagement, and the island’s upcoming EU Council presidency in 2026. Meetings with government ministers focused on education abroad, talent repatriation, and Cyprus’ geopolitical role.
The conference closed with calls to strengthen overseas communities and address key issues, including UN resolutions and the detention of five Greek Cypriots. Organizers thanked the Foreign Ministry and diaspora services for their support.
