FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen welcomed the updated itinerary for the U.S. delegation’s trip to Greenland on Wednesday, March 26.

The revised plan focuses on visiting the Pituffik Space Base, operated by the U.S. Space Force, where Vice President J.D. Vance will discuss Arctic security and meet with troops.

The change comes after earlier criticism from Danish and Greenlandic officials over the original schedule, which included multiple stops in Greenland without official invitations, amid the territory’s ongoing government transition.

Rasmussen told Danish public radio DR, “It’s very positive that the Americans canceled their visit to Greenlandic society. Instead, they will visit their own base, Pituffik, and we have no objections.”

Vice President Vance will be joined by his wife, Usha Vance, though she will no longer attend a previously planned dog sled race.
