FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The European Commission is urging EU citizens to stockpile emergency supplies for three days to prepare for crises such as wars or natural disasters.
The proposal, part of a strategic framework unveiled by Crisis Management Commissioner Aja Labib, suggests essentials like bottled water, energy bars, and identity documents in waterproof cases.
Inspired by Nordic countries’ preparedness efforts and shaped by a report from former Finnish President Sauli Niinisto, the plan includes a “national preparedness day” to ensure readiness.
Member states like France are also implementing measures to bolster resilience amid rising global risks.
