FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Estonian Navy has detained an EU-sanctioned oil tanker reportedly en route to Russia.
The vessel is now docked at a port near Tallinn, pending further investigation.
Authorities have long accused Russia of employing a “shadow fleet” with opaque ownership structures to bypass Western sanctions linked to the war in Ukraine.
It remains unclear whether the detained tanker is part of this fleet. Estonian officials are inspecting the ship to verify its documentation and legal status.
