Cyprus is hosting a two‑day conference of the pan‑European Council of National Supervisory Authorities for Air Navigation Services, the Transport Ministry said Tuesday.

The meeting, held under the auspices of Cyprus’ Presidency of the Council of the European Union, aims to coordinate member states and shape common approaches on performance and harmonization of air‑navigation services. Discussions will focus on safety‑critical functions including air‑traffic control, communications and surveillance across Europe.

Representatives from EU member states and senior officials from the European Commission are taking part.

Petros Stratis, a senior official at the Transport Ministry, has served as the unanimously elected chair of the Council since 2025. In that role, he represents the body in consultations with the European Commission and other international aviation organizations.

Hosting the conference, the ministry said, reinforces Cyprus’ position as a reliable partner in the European aviation sector.
