EU: Cyprus had the second highest share in overnight stays of foreign tourists

FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Cyprus had the second highest share in overnight stays of foreign tourists in the European Union in the first quarter of 2025.

Alithia newspaper, in its report based on data on tourist accommodations by the European Union (EU) Statistical Institute Eurostat, wrote that the rate of foreign tourists staying in Cyprus in the first three months of this year was 85.7 percent.

Malta ranked first among EU member states with a 91.2 percent share of foreign tourist overnight stays.

Following Cyprus in second place, Luxembourg ranked third with 80.4 percent of foreign tourist overnight stays.

Poland had the lowest share of foreign tourist overnight stays with 18.6 percent, followed by Romania with 20.1 percent and Germany with 20.2 percent.
