More than 100 humanitarian groups have issued a joint appeal over the worsening conditions in Gaza, warning that aid workers are now risking their lives in food lines and facing severe shortages of emergency supplies.
The statement comes two months after the launch of food distribution efforts by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a U.S.-backed and Israeli-controlled initiative. The organizations say the situation has deteriorated rapidly and are calling for immediate action.
Their demands include the full reopening of land border crossings, restoration of food, clean water, medical supplies, shelter materials and fuel through a UN-led mechanism, and an end to the blockade. They also urge an immediate ceasefire to prevent further loss of life.
