More than 68,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military operations in Gaza since 7 October 2023, according to the territory’s health authorities.
The death toll continues to rise even after a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect on Friday, 10 October.
Health officials say many of the newly recorded deaths are from bodies recovered in the rubble, while additional casualties have occurred since the truce began.
On Friday, nine Palestinians were reportedly killed when Israeli forces struck a civilian vehicle, underscoring the fragility of the ceasefire and the ongoing humanitarian toll of the conflict.
The war, now in its second year, has drawn widespread international condemnation and left much of Gaza in ruins.
