ANKARA — Turkey’s national weather service has issued a forecast warning of widespread rain across the country’s northern, central, and western regions on Tuesday, with some areas expected to see heavy downpours and thunderstorms.
According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, skies will be mostly cloudy in parts of Marmara, the Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the Black Sea, and the northern and western sections of Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout these regions, while other areas will experience partly cloudy to clear conditions.
Rainfall is expected to be locally intense in the southern Aegean coast and inland areas, the northern and western parts of Central Anatolia, the central and eastern Black Sea coastline, and around Zonguldak, Adana, and the İskenderun Gulf.
Authorities have urged residents in affected areas to remain alert for potential flooding and disruptions to transportation.
