FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE -A high-pressure system centered southwest of Crete is moving eastward, gradually bringing warm air to Cyprus.
The system is expected to maintain clear and calm conditions across the island, with temperatures rising steadily through Friday, the Meteorology Department reported.
Tonight, skies will remain mostly clear, though patches of low clouds and mist may form in inland and eastern areas during the early morning hours.
Winds will be light, around 3 Beaufort, shifting downslope. Seas will be calm to slightly rough in the west. Overnight temperatures will drop to 14 degrees Celsius inland, 15 degrees along the coast, and 12 degrees in the mountains.
Wednesday will see mostly clear skies, with light to moderate winds shifting from northeasterly to southwesterly later in the day. Coastal waters will remain calm, though slightly choppier in the west. Daytime temperatures will peak at 33 degrees Celsius inland, 26 degrees along the coast, and 25 degrees in the mountains.
On Wednesday night, skies will remain clear, though high clouds may increase later. Winds will turn westerly to northwesterly, remaining light to moderate at times.
Through Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, conditions will remain mostly clear, with temperatures rising through Friday before stabilizing at levels above seasonal averages.
