FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE— A Nicosia court sentenced two Hungarian nationals to prison for illegally promoting property sales in the occupied territories of Cyprus. The court handed down sentences of two and a half years and 15 months, respectively.

The first defendant, a retired beautician, pleaded guilty to 21 of 63 charges related to advertising and promoting home sales in Kyrenia. The second defendant, a hairdresser, admitted to six similar charges.

Prosecutors dropped the remaining charges.

Authorities said the women used their personal Facebook pages to market properties built illegally in Kalograia and Trachonas–Agios Amvrosios, Kyrenia, by a company called “Cyprus Constructions.”
