Klaus Schwab Resigns as WEF Chair

FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, has resigned as chair of the WEF Board of Trustees, the organization announced Monday.

Schwab, 87, informed the board of his decision, citing his age. “Following my recent announcement, and as I enter my 88th year, I have decided to step down from the position of Chair and as a member of the Board of Trustees, with immediate effect,” he said in a statement.

Schwab founded the WEF in 1971, shaping it into a leading global policy forum. His resignation marks a major transition for the organization.
