FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – NATO’s Military Staff Europe (SHAPE) has confirmed that the alliance is actively planning and conducting military exercises across all 32 member countries. The announcement was made on the messaging platform X.
However, Swedish newspaper Expressen reported on Friday that the United States is planning to withdraw from organizing future military exercises in Europe.
According to the report, U.S. allies have been informed of this decision, which could reshape the dynamics of NATO’s training operations.
SHAPE noted that while U.S. troops are still participating in ongoing exercises, there is a growing trend of drills designed exclusively for European forces. This shift reflects an evolving approach to collective defense within the alliance.
