Police issued hundreds of citations overnight as part of an intensified nationwide campaign to prevent serious road collisions.
Nearly 400 drivers were reported for traffic violations, while officers also made 13 arrests involving, among other offenses, illegal possession of a non‑firearm weapon, burglary tools and driving under the influence of alcohol.
In one case, a driver was found with a blood‑alcohol level five times the legal limit. Police said 138 of the citations involved excessive speeding.
