Cyprus motorists are being warned to brace for further fuel price rises in the coming period, with officials admitting the outlook is anything but positive.
Consumer Protection Service Director Constantinos Karayiorgis said that trends in fuel prices are not looking good, pointing to rising costs at the refineries. He warned that unless the situation changes, the next fuel stocks to arrive could come with additional price increases.
According to the Fuel Retail Price Observatory, the average price of unleaded 95 octane petrol currently stands at €1.62, ranging from €1.54 at the cheapest pumps to €1.71 at the priciest.
Diesel is averaging €1.88 a litre, with prices ranging from €1.79 to €1.98.
