Cyprus Police carried out a coordinated operation across Paphos on Thursday targeting the illegal use of personal mobility devices, such as electric scooters, under the supervision of the head of Paphos Traffic Police, Inspector A. Tsappis.
Police said the checks resulted in 31 offence reports, with officers seizing 23 devices in enforcement of the relevant legislation.
Three of the reports concerned owners of rental premises for personal mobility devices, who are alleged to have been operating without the required licence from Paphos Municipality. Police said the same operators had also been renting out the devices to minors, in breach of the law.
Paphos Traffic Police said the checks would continue with the same intensity, aimed at improving road safety, protecting the public, and tackling the illegal use of personal mobility devices.
