FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Police are searching for a 42-year-old suspect involved in a drug trafficking investigation after a vehicle chase on April 25 led to the discovery of 25 kilos of drugs.
The chase began when the suspect, who had been under police surveillance, attempted to flee during a routine stop.
Police fired warning shots as the pursuit caused a traffic accident.
The suspect then abandoned his car and fled on foot into nearby fields in the Pareklissa area.
Authorities have focused their search on Pareklissa, which the suspect is believed to know well.
The vehicle inspection revealed a large quantity of drugs, confirming reports linking the suspect to trafficking activities.
