President Nikos Christodoulides officially launched the “Maritime Cyprus 2025” conference today in Limassol, highlighting the strategic importance of the shipping sector to Cyprus and the European Union.
In his address, Christodoulides emphasized that safeguarding the competitiveness of European shipping is a key priority for Cyprus during its upcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union.
He noted that Cyprus boasts one of the largest merchant fleets globally, with the Cypriot registry growing by 20%—its highest increase in two decades.
