FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – President Nicos Christodoulides welcomed newly appointed ambassadors to the Presidential Palace on Monday, where they presented their Letters of Credence, marking the official start of their diplomatic mission to Cyprus.
During the ceremony, the president emphasized Cyprus’s unique geopolitical position and its commitment to fostering bilateral and multilateral relations with partner nations. He highlighted Cyprus’s efforts in advancing regional cooperation, contributing to EU initiatives, and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East and Europe.
The president also expressed gratitude for the support of the ambassadors’ nations in addressing the Cyprus problem and underscored the country’s goal to end the Turkish military occupation and reunify the island.
In his remarks, the president conveyed Cyprus’s dedication to multilateral diplomacy as the key to addressing global challenges and building partnerships based on shared values of peace, democracy, and the rule of law.
