The number of employees in Cyprus’ public and education sectors has surpassed 55,000, with an average monthly increase of nearly 1%, or around 500 workers, according to official data.
Figures from the Statistical Service show employment rose by 0.1% in the public sector and 3.3% in education, while security forces saw a 0.8% decline.
The largest increase was among fixed-term employees, whereas indefinite-term positions saw the biggest decrease.
