FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Kremlin remains open to a diplomatic resolution to the Ukraine conflict, spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday, though he did not specify a timeframe for negotiations.
Peskov emphasized that discussions aimed at a peaceful solution must remain private to avoid leaks.
“President Putin and the Russian side remain open to finding a peaceful solution and are continuing to work with the American side,” he said, expressing hope that ongoing efforts would yield results.
His comments follow a post by U.S. President Donald Trump on Truth Social on Sunday, in which Trump voiced optimism that Russia and Ukraine could reach a deal this week.
While Moscow has repeatedly stated its willingness to negotiate, previous attempts at diplomacy have stalled over territorial disputes and security concerns.
