Seasonal low pressure system brings clear skies and mild winds to Cyprus

A seasonal low-pressure system is currently affecting the region, bringing mostly clear skies and moderate temperatures.

Today’s forecast calls for predominantly sunny conditions, with localized cloud buildup expected in the afternoon. Winds will blow mainly from the southwest to northwest at light to moderate strength (3 to 4 Beaufort), increasing to strong (5 Beaufort) along southern coastal areas later in the day. Seas will be slightly choppy.

Temperatures are expected to reach:

  • 35°C inland
  • 29°C along the western coast
  • Around 31°C on other coastal areas
  • 26°C in the higher mountains

Tonight, skies will remain mostly clear. Winds will shift to northwest to northeast, starting moderate (4 Beaufort) and strengthening to strong (5 Beaufort), with occasional gusts reaching very strong levels (6 Beaufort) in windward areas. The sea will gradually become moderately rough.

Overnight temperatures will drop to:

  • 20°C inland
  • Around 22°C on the coast
  • 15°C in mountainous regions

Looking ahead to Friday and the weekend, the weather will stay mostly clear. Temperatures will dip slightly on Friday and remain below seasonal averages through the weekend.
