A search for 13.6 kilograms of TNT stolen during a planned National Guard exercise at the Vuda firing range has so far yielded no results, authorities said Wednesday.

Alithia reported that police are questioning individuals involved in the exercise and those with access to the explosives.

Police spokesman Christodoulos Konsolos said investigators have not yet obtained testimony that could clarify what happened.

The National Guard is conducting its own internal inquiry into the disappearance of the explosives, the paper added.

Defense Ministry spokesman Christos Pieris said officials are awaiting the findings of both the National Guard officer assigned to the case and the police investigation.

According to Haravgi, Defense Minister Vasilis Palmas said it remains unclear whether the explosives were taken by criminal groups or scrap collectors.

He noted that the only positive aspect is that the TNT can be detonated only with a blasting cap and under a specific protocol.
