Syria’s defense chief has met with Kurdish commander Mazloum Abdi and agreed to an immediate cease-fire across northern and northeastern Syria.
The announcement followed heavy fighting in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah districts, where one security officer was killed and several others wounded.
Officials said the clashes stemmed from recent troop redeployments and accused the Syrian Democratic Forces of repeated attacks.
The SDF denied the claims and blamed government-aligned groups for provoking the violence.
